Aitutaki Marathon Collateral Design
The Brief
To design collateral for the Aitutaki Marathon.
The client required posters, tickets, certificates, and an entry form. The design needed to incorporate elements of the Cook Islands patterns.
The Client
Turama Pacific Travel Group
They are the leading travel management company in the tourism industry of the Cook Islands.
They organise a variety of different events, and this is one of them.
About the event
The Aitutaki Marathon Pursuit in Paradise combines running and ultimate relaxation!
Set on the stunning paradise island, Aitutaki – the Aitutaki Marathon ‘Pursuit in Paradise’ event offers 3 race courses that crisscross the tiny island with each step revealing the natural beauty of Aitutaki. Runners/walkers can choose from the 10km course, the half marathon 21.1km course and the full 42.2km marathon course.
The Solution
This was a fun project to work on!
The beautiful island of Aitutaki in the Cook Islands hosts the Aitutaki Marathon each year. I was asked to design the collateral for them.
Behind the design
I needed to ensure all elements looked similar in order to design the Aitutaki Marathon collateral. A logo had already been created, so I wanted to pick up on the fonts and colours used.
I decided to incorporate the patterns and graphics used by the Cook Islands into the collateral. Each of the elements that make up the pattern has a meaning behind them, and I felt it was important to add this to the design.
Designing the collateral
A poster design and a registration form were required to promote the event.
I incorporated the corner graphic into these items, to add a fun and cultural element to the design. The pattern was also added to the bottom of the images. The information was kept simple and straightforward, so it could be easy to read.
Tickets and certificates were also required.
The previous design of the certificates was very plain, and I felt the pattern could be incorporated into the certificate to make the design stand out. It would also reflect the event’s branding and styling, rather than look like a standard certificate.
For the ticket designs, I also incorporated the same elements. This ensured they all felt part of the same group of branding collateral.
