Golden Ticket Invitation Design

The Brief

To design a golden ticket invitation to celebrate a 50th birthday party.

The theme was gold and the client liked the idea of a golden ticket.

Behind the design

The project came about as a colleague was planning a party to celebrate her 50th birthday, and as a result, asked me to design an invitation for her.

The theme was gold. 50 years as a wedding anniversary is a Golden theme, so this was translated into the theme for this event.

She wanted the gold theme to translate through the whole event, decorations were gold, and each of the attendees was required to wear something gold too!

The Solution

Golden Ticket Invitation Design

For the invitation design, I decided to base it on a Golden Ticket, inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The invitation was designed to be a DL size, fitting into a standard-size envelope. It was double-sided, with the reverse giving more information about the event itself.

The design was to be fully typographical.

I sourced a font similar to the ones used on the Golden Tickets and recreated design elements to look authentic.

The tickets were printed onto gold card.

After the party itself, I was asked to design a thank you card, using the same theme.

This was designed to be a square card, again printed onto a gold card.
