Rustic Wedding Stationery Design
The Brief
To design and create a wedding stationery suite utilising a vintage/rustic theme, incorporating lace, string and neutral colours.
The Client
Dawn and Dave Benham
The Solution
Rustic Wedding Invitation Design
Dawn wanted to use a vintage/rustic theme for her wedding invitations, incorporating lace, string and neutral colours.
This was a hand-crafted set of stationery using a layering effect.
To design the invitations themselves, I wanted to keep them purely typographical.
A script font was used for the names and a modern-looking serif font for the information.
The invitation was printed onto textured brown paper. Next, lace was applied to the top, with a string bow tied across the lace. It then adhered to a cream backing card. Each one was individually crafted.
Insert Design
Dawn wanted to include an RSVP insert and a poem about not wanting gifts from the guests.
I designed these to be hand-crafted in the same way as the invitations, but just in a smaller size.
Rustic Wedding Stationery Suite
Dawn also needed an order of service booklet, table names, place names and a seating chart to be designed.
To keep the theme going across the whole suite, every item was created in the same manner as the invitations, using the hand-crafted layering process.
It was time-consuming but the overall effect was well worth the effort!
The table names were based on the groom’s love of biscuits, and each table was a biscuit type!
The wedding was held at Croyde Bay Holiday Resort, a coastal venue that lent itself to some beautiful photos of the bride and groom on the beach.
